estimates at 6-hour intervals, not continuous measurements. The animation interpolates position between
points; winds are the storm's peak sustained wind anywhere in the storm, not wind at any particular
parcel. Pre-satellite records (before 1966, especially before 1900) likely miss storms and
underestimate intensity.
